The complete parkour of a teacher.

Just finished high school.

I just finished high school in Georges-Vanier Laval, a school in which you progress autonomously in the course via modules and where the prof is here to help you if you have a question but is not here to teach in front of the class. I've had many great teachers who marked my life at that time, and I look up to them. I want to become a teacher but in what? I have a big interest in chemistry and mathematics. Let's get done with college and think about it on the way.

Choice 1 : Go in Pure and Applied Sciences

Choice 2 : Go in Social Sciences

A public school, high school classroom in the United States

Pure and Applied Sciences.

I just finished my first semester in Pure and Applied Sciences, for the math classes, everything was going well, but I hate Chemistry labs. My dexterity is really bad and the precision that it takes to achieve good results is too much, yet I pass the class. The thing is that I will have to do 3 more semesters with laboratories. My interest of becoming a Chemistry teacher has plummeted. What should I do?

Choice 1 : Change program in Social Sciences

Choice 2 : Push through Pure and Applied Sciences

Done with Pure and Applied Sciences.

I pushed trough Pure and Applied Sciences, I failed two lab classes and had to redo them extending the duration of my DEC for 2 semesters, but I got it. I learned by being in college that I loved philosophy and ethics to a great extent so much so that I would want to study in this field at university. I still have the opportunities that my DEC in sciences gave me though.

Choice 1 : Proceed to do a bachelor's degree in High School Education.

Choice 2 : Proceed to do a bachelor's degree in Philosophy.

Choice 3 : Proceed to do a bachelor's degree in Chemistry.

Choice 4 : Proceed to do a bachelor's degree in Mathematics.

Getting diploma

Social Sciences.

I just finished my first semester in Social Science, I went in a program more focused on psychology. The classes are way too easy and not challenging enough. The lack of intellectual fulfillment is moral crushing, and I don't know if I can make it out even though straight A's are easy to pull off.

Choice 1 : Drop out

Choice 2 : Push through Social Sciences

Social science?

Dropping out.

I know this program was to learn the ropes of Social Sciences, but I can see why everyone call this the pit of DEC, everyone who can make it out of other programs end up in here, and I can feel it by the way the teachers teach. More and more I begin to lack a purpose and become overwhelmed with despair. I dropped out.

Choice 1 : Try again?

Male cashier

Done with Social Sciences.

I managed to finish Social Sciences, I did it by extending the subject learned in class by going to see the teachers during their availabilities which kept alive my intellectual fulfillment. I learned a lot about the realm of consciousness and the subjectivity of man. It is what deterred me from dropping out. Also, I learned by being in college that I loved philosophy and ethics to a great extent so much so that I would want to study in this field at university.

Choice 1 : Proceed to do a bachelor's degree in Philosophy.

Choice 2 : Proceed to do a bachelor's degree in High School Education.

Bachelor in Philosophy.

After 2 semesters working on my bachelor's degree in chemistry, I have studied a lot of history of thinking currents like determinism, dualism, existentialism, and nihilism. I love it so far, except for the reading aspect of it. I've had many great discussions and debates with my classmates because I feel like now people are catching up to my intellectual level, which was not the case in college.

Choice 1 : Done with the bachelor's degree in philosophy.

Le Penseur from Rodin

Bachelor in Chemistry.

After 2 semesters working on my bachelor's degree in chemistry, I have studied many kinds of chemical reactions and their functions on a molecular level, and thermodynamics. It was interlinked with epistemology which granted me with deep knowledge about the anthropological manifestation of religion in the history of humanity. All of it studied with a strong bias towards metaphysics which is all over the place when we talk about the supernatural. I have made it! Through a lot of reading and the fact that the philosophy carrier market is brutal. 300 people applied for my job 7 or 8 years ago, all of them with PhDs, teaching experience, and publications. I put my foot in the door and entered the profession, now I need to do post doctorates and need to work around 9 hours a day during the week and 4 hours per day on the weekends. The wages are incredible though and the constant learning fuel that I get from exerting that profession is enough to keep me going. I finally achieved my dream. End of Line.
